Hey everybody. More legato madness this
month. Hope it will be of some use.
We're going to start off with four little
patterns.
Pattern 1: Pattern
2: Pattern
3: Pattern
4:
|--5h7h8p7p5------| |--5h8p5h7p5------|
|--5h7h8p7p5h7p5-----|
|--5------------------------|
|------------------h8--| |------------------h8--| |-------------------------h8--|
|----h8p6p5--5h6h8--|
|------------------------|
|-----------------------|
|------------------------------| |---------------7-----------|
|------------------------|
|-----------------------|
|------------------------------|
|----------------------------|
|------------------------|
|-----------------------|
|------------------------------|
|----------------------------|
|------------------------|
|-----------------------|
|------------------------------|
|----------------------------|
(note: the first three notes on pattern
3 are played as triplets)
Try to play these licks one after
another like a big lick. You can mix 'em up and change 'em
around a little too.
It can lead to making some really
cool licks and it's good for practicing improvisation. Also
extend the patterns throughout
the rest of the strings.
This next lick is a little build
up thing (or you might want to say build down when
descending). But anyways, it's groups of four.
You'll want to try to play
everything as even as possible, just as you want to do so with
all the other licks as well.
Ascending
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------and
so on-----|
|--------------------------------------------------------------------------6--------6h7----6h7h9----------------------|
|------------------------4-------4h5----4h5h7-4h5h7/9-5h7h9----7h9--------9--------------------------------|
|----4h5h7-4h5h7----5h7-------7------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|--7-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Descending
|--10p9p7------9p7---------7-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|--------------10-------10p8----10p8p7-10p8p7----8p7-------7-------------------------and
so on-----------|
|-----------------------------------------------------------9-------9p7----9p7\6-9p7p6-------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------9----------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Alrighty...
here's a little pattern that u can move
around anywhere on the neck and it's
kinda kewl. The notes are played
as triplets.
Try to do it with no picking or u can
pick the first note of each section.
|--19p15h17h19p17p15--17p14h15h17p15p14--15p12h14h15p14p12----------------------------------------|
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------and
so on---------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Well that's all for this
month guys. I hope you enjoy
what's been provided and
that it can be of some use
in your
guitar playing. Good luck
and happy shredding!
